To Discover New Horizons, First You Must Let Go of the Shore.

This was the epithet on one of the many 'motivational' posters which were plastered over the walls of the teaching rooms where I used to work in Sussex Police's Training and Conference Centre.   It's popped back into my head right now, as Andy and I get to grips with just how much there is to do, and think about, in 'letting go of the shore'!  Planning FOR the trip is one thing - innoculations, visa applications, insurance arrangements, maps, guides, etc. etc. - but having to work out how to keep our 'Merry Cottage world' ticking over for three months in our absence, is another aspect of this 'big trip' that has taken up much of our of our time over the past several weeks.  However, with just over a week to go (we leave from Heathrow on 4 Oct), it looks as though we've sorted out most things, and we can start to let go of the shore and look forward to our new horizons ahead.

We hope to post occasional blogs once we get over to Indo-China, and it would be great to hear from you as we travel around Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.
